This tutorial was written for those with a working knowledge of PSP. I am using version 9, but any version should work. In this tutorial, you will learn how to make your own cluster frame using my frame as a model. I will post screen-shots as we start to add elements to our frame so that you can see placement of the elements and you will see the progression as we "build" the frame. The cluster frame you make using this tutorial is for personal use only.
Supplies:
Scrap kit of choice: I used a super cute PTU kit by Jill of Created By Jill called Shades of Rion 3.. You can purchase the kit by visiting her blog at Created By Jill.
Let's get started:
Open the following elements from your scrap kit and minimize as these are the elements we will be working with to make our frame:
Frame 3
Beads
Greenery 1
Flower 3
Greenery 2
Flower 4
Glitter Doodle
Feather
Star
Ribbon 1
1. Open a new canvas 650 x 650 with a transparent background. You can flood fill white if you'd like, but it's not necessary.
2. Copy and paste frame 3 as a new layer. Image, re-size to 80, enhance sharpen (when re-sizing an element, I always sharpen, but only once. If you need to re-size AND rotate an element, wait until you do both steps before you sharpen. This will prevent your element from becoming blurry). Adjust, hue/saturation, colorize with hue at 0 and saturation at 0 (the frame will turn gray). Adjust, hue/saturation, and colorize again, but this time set hue to 35 and saturation to 98. Center the frame in the middle of your canvas.
3. Copy and paste the beads as a new layer. Re-size to 85. Sharpen. See image below for placement. If you need to see it larger, click on the image.

4. Copy and paste greenery 1 as a new layer. Re-size to 50. Sharpen. See image below for placement.

5. Duplicate the greenery 1 layer. Image, rotate, free rotate, and set to right at 15. Sharpen. Grab your eraser tool and erase the bottom part of the leaf stem that extends beyond your frame. See image below for placement.

6. Copy and paste greenery 1 as a new layer again. This time re-size to 40. Sharpen. Once again, erase the bottom part of the stem that extends beyond the frame. See image below for placement.

7. Copy and paste greenery 1 as a new layer again. Re-size to 35. Image, rotate, free rotate, left and 10. Enhance, sharpen. See image below for placement.

8. Copy and paste greenery 1 as a new layer again. I know this seems like a lot but we are filling in right now. Re-size to 30. Image, rotate, free rotate, right to 10. See image below for placement.

9. Copy and paste flower 3 as a new layer. Image, mirror. Re-size to 35. Enhance, sharpen. See image below for placement.

10. Copy and paste greenery 2 as a new layer again. Image, flip. Re-size to 50. Sharpen. See image below for placement.

11. Copy and paste flower 4 as a new layer. Re-size to 15. Sharpen. See image below for placement.

12. Copy and paste flower 3 as a new layer. Re-size to 35. Sharpen. See image below for placement.

13. Copy and paste flower 4 as a new layer. Re-size to 35. Sharpen. See image below for placement.

14. Duplicate flower 4 (the one you just added in step 13) and move it down some. See image below for placement.

15. Copy and paste flower 3 as a new layer again. Image, mirror. Re-size to 35. Sharpen. See image below for placement.

16. Copy and paste flower 4 as a new layer. Re-size to 35. Sharpen. See image below for placement.

17. Copy and paste the glitter doodle as a new layer. Image, flip. Image, mirror. Re-size to 50. Image, rotate, free rotate, left to 35. Sharpen. See image below for placement.

18. Copy and paste the feather as a new layer. Image, flip. Image, mirror. Re-size to 40. Adjust, hue/saturation, colorize and set to 0 and 0 (the feather will be gray now). See image below for placement.

19. Copy and paste flower 4 as a new layer. Re-size to 35. Sharpen. See image below for placement.

20. Find the feather layer you already placed (it will be 2 layers down from the top in your layers pallet). Duplicate the feather. Image, flip. Image, mirror. Sharpen. see the image below for placement.

21. Copy and paste the glitter doodle again as a new layer. Re-size to 50. Sharpen. See image below for placement.

22. Copy and paste the star as a new layer. Re-size to 50. Sharpen. See image below for placement.

23. Duplicate the star. Image, rotate, free rotate, right to 35. Sharpen. See image below for placement.

24. Copy and paste flower 3 as a new layer. Re-size to 35. Sharpen. See image below for placement.

25. Copy and paste ribbon 1 as a new layer. Re-size to 50. Sharpen. See image below for placement.

26. We have now added all the elements we will be adding to our frame but we are not quite finished yet. We need to add some drop shadows. Keep in mind that the shadow of an element should only show on the layer that it is on top of. So with that said, we will be adding a drop shadow to each element of our cluster frame except for the frame and the 2 feathers (feathers don't drop well). I used a drop shadow of 7, 5, 50, 5, color set to black, and make sure you check the box for the shadow to be on a new layer. You want your drop shadow on a separate layer for each of the elements. REMEMBER: do not add a drop shadow to the frame or the 2 feathers.
27. Now close off all layers except for the frame and leave the frame layer open. Open (unhide) all the drop shadow layers. (They will all say shadow in the layers pallet). You still want all your element layers hidden. All you will see now is the frame and the various drop shadows for your elements. It should look something like this:

Click on the frame layer. Selections, all, selections, float, selections, defloat, selections, invert. Keep selected. Now, starting at the bottom of your layers pallet and working your way up to the top, click on EACH individual shadow layer, and hit delete on each one. (This will only delete the shadow that extends beyond the frame). Once you have done that for each drop shadow layer, you should see something like this:

Go to selections, and none. What we have just done is delete any drop shadows that extend beyond your frame and cleaned up the look of the frame so that if you click in the center of the frame with your magic wand, the marching ants should be right up against the frame.
Unhide all your layers. If you flood filled your background with white, delete that white background layer now. Go to the top of your layers pallet and click on the top layer. Layers, merge visible, and you are finished.
