Music is Love

This Tutorial was written for those with a working knowledge of PSP. I used version 9, but any version should work.

Supplies:

Tube of Choice: I used the beautiful Libra zodiac tube from Ismael Rac. You must not use his artwork without first purchasing a license to do so. You may purchase the tube and a license at his store HERE.

Scrap Kit: I used the beautiful Tranquility scrap kit by Jill at Created by Jill. You can purchase the kit HERE.

Cluster Frame: I used the freebie cluster frame I made using Jill's Tranquility scrap kit. You can download the frame HERE. Do not share this frame in any groups. Please direct others here or to my main blog for download.

Word Art: I made the word art for this tag and tutorial. You can download my word art HERE. Do not share this wordart in any groups. Please direct others here or to my main blog for download.

Mask of Choice: I used Mask 8 from HorsePlay's Pasture. You can download the mask from her blog HERE.

Filters:

Xero Radiance
Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow

Font of Choice: I used a PTU font called Aphrodite Pro

Let's get started:

1.

Open the png version of my cluster frame
Grab your selection tool set to rectangle or your lasso tool if you're more comfortable with that and select around the credits
Hit delete
Selections, none
Layer, new raster layer, and drag it below the frame
Flood fill white

2.

Set your foreground color to # 4c97a1 and your background color to white
Change your foreground color to a gradient using linear style, angle 45 and repeats 4
Using your selection tool set to rectangle, draw out a rectangle a bit larger than the open center of the smaller frame on the left of your cluster
Hold down your shift key and draw out two additional rectangles a bit larger than the open centers of the large middle frame and the small right frame
Release the shift key
Layer, new raster layer, and flood fill the 3 sections of the frames with the gradient
Selections, none
Drag the gradient layer below the frame layer
Effects, texture effects, and use blinds set at width 3, opacity 19, color white, and check the horizontal box

3.

Select the gradient layer
Selections, all, float, defloat
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer in the center frame and position so that the top of the tube extends a bit past the top of the frame (see my tag for position)
Selections, invert, hit delete
Paste your tube as a new layer again. Position it so that it is directly over top of the tube you just put in the frame
Move this tube layer above the frame layer
Grab your eraser tool and carefully erase the bottom part of the tube so that it looks like it's coming out of the frame. Be careful not to erase the one arm of the tube (see my tag for example).
Now duplicate this tube layer
On the original tube layer (the one above the frame), Effects, Xero Radiance with the following settings: 128/50/128/255
On the copy of the tube layer, adjust, blur, Gaussian blur set to 4
Layers, properties, and change blend mode to soft light

4.

Select your gradient layer again
Selections, all, float, defloat
Copy and paste your tube in one of the smaller side frames
Selection, invert, hit delete
Repeat for the opposite side small frame
Duplicate each of the tubes in the small frames
On the original tube - Effects, Xero Radiance, and use the same settings as earlier
On the copy of the tube - adjust, blur, Gaussian Blur set to 4
Layers, properties, and change the blend mode to screen

5.

Select the white background layer
Layer, new raster layer
Set foreground color to # 4c97a1 (solid color) and flood fill the new raster layer
Layer, new mask layer, from image, and find the HorsePlay mask and apply it
Layers, merge group
Effects, texture effects, weave set to gap 2, width 5, opactiy 32, weave and gap color both set to white, and check fill gaps

6.

Grab the cello from the scrap kit and copy and paste as a new layer
Drag it up to the top of your layers pallet
Image, resize to 40, enhance, sharpen
Position as shown on my tag

7.

Grab the music notes from the scrap kit and copy and paste as a new layer
Image, resize to 40, enhance, sharpen
Position as shown on my tag
If any of the bars from the notes overlap the cello, grab your eraser tool and carefully erase those parts
Add a drop shadow of choice

8.

Open the music notes from the scrap kit
Grab your selection tool set to rectangle and select around the two sheets at the top right
Hit delete
Selections, none
Copy and paste as a new layer and position as on my tag on the right side
Drag this layer down in your layers pallet so that it's just above the mask layer
Duplicate the layer
Image, mirror
Pull this layer up in your layers pallet so that it's above the frame layer and position as on my tag
Grab your eraser tool and carefully erase around the sheet closest to your tube being careful not to erase too much so that it looks like the sheets start behind the tube

9.

Grab my word art and copy and paste as a new layer and drag to the top of your layers pallet
Position as on my tag
Effects, Eye Candy 4000 gradient glow with glow width set to 3
On the colors tab select medium
Pull the white slider box about mid way to the right and apply

10.

Add your copyright information and your name
Delete the background layer
Layers, merge visible
Save your tag as a png image and you are finished
